Description

Join us for a fun, hands-on Plant ID Training Session with the NC Native Plant Society’s Oconee Bell Chapter and discover new ways to recognize and identify the amazing native plants growing all around us!

Dr. Paul Manos, Duke University Professor of Biology, will introduce easy-to-use online and mobile resources developed by the NC Botanical Garden’s Southeastern Flora Team. Together we’ll explore the FloraQuest Mobile app and web tools that make plant identification feel like a treasure hunt for nature lovers. The website — https://fsus.ncbg.unc.edu/ — is an outstanding gateway to sharpening your botanical skills and discovering the rich diversity of Southern Appalachian plants.

Want to follow along during the session? Bring a laptop or tablet and/or download the FloraQuest app to your phone ($19.99) so you can try out features during and after the workshop.
